THREE VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON I-65 NORTHBOUND LEADS TO EXTRICATION

Friday morning at approximately 8:30 three units from Brentwood Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a report of a three vehicle personal injury accident with entrapment on the shoulder of I-65 Northbound. Upon arrival crew members found one vehicle with moderate damage and an entrapped driver. Brentwood Police shut down two of the lanes of travel while Rescue 1, Engine 2 and Engine 1 worked to free the trapped driver. It was quickly determined that the safest way to extricate the driver of the vehicle would be to completely remove the roof. Extrication tools from both Rescue 1 and Engine 1 were used to make the required cuts. Once the driver was safely extricated from the vehicle they were transported emergency traffic to an area hospital for further care.
