Here is an overview of significant events from this period’s
activities:
Saturday, November

E3 was dispatch on a medical call for a report of a patient
having a seizure. E3 arrived on scene
and made contact with patient who was actively seizing. BFR personnel provided advanced life support
including cardiac monitoring and securing the patients airway. EMS arrived on scene and the patient was
rapidly moved to the ambulance. EMS
transported the patient emergency traffic to a local hospital with 1 member of
E3’s crew aboard to assist with care.
Sunday, November

E4 responded to a “drive-up” medical call outside Station 4
for injuries from a fall. BFR personnel
made patient contact and performed a rapid trauma assessment. Spinal immobilization was initiated while
E4’s officer contacted EMS. The patient
was secured to a spine board and moved to the back of the ambulance. Once all on scene care was completed the
patient was transported to a local hospital and E4 personnel returned to
quarters.
Sunday, November
24 and Saturday, November 25:
E3 responded to two reported structure fires in the city
limits of Franklin to provide mutual aid.
The incidents were located in the BFR/FFD automatic aid area so E3 was
dispatched at the same time as FFD units.
E3 was asked to stage near the incident scene in case more personnel
were needed for fire ground operations.
Fortunately, both incidents only caused minor damage and E3 was released
by FFD Command.
