Chief's Briefing for October 9 through October 14, 2013



Here is a summary of Brentwood Fire and Rescue’s emergency responses for the period of October 9 through October 14, 2013.

 
We responded to 26 emergency calls for service.


These calls can be broken down into the following categories:

EMS/Rescue: 19

False Call: 3


Here is an overview of significant events from this period’s activities:


Sunday, October 12 at approximately 3:40 am:

E4 was dispatched on a medical call for a report of trouble breathing.  E4 arrived on scene to find a patient with obvious breathing difficulty.  Crew members immediately began assessing the patient and E4’s paramedic provided advanced care.  EMS arrived on scene and care was transferred.  BFR personnel assisted EMS crew members with moving the patient to the ambulance and administering medication.  EMS transported emergency traffic to a local hospital and E4 returned to service. 


Monday, October 14 at approximately 11:30 am:

E3 was dispatched on a medical call for a report of injuries from a fall.  E3 arrived on scene and made contact with the patient who was in severe pain.  BFR personnel immobilized the patient’s spine and placed the patient on a back board to prevent any further injury.  Crew members established an IV and continued assessing for further injuries.  EMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred.  BFR personnel assisted EMS with moving the patient to the ambulance as well as pain management.  Once EMS transported the patient, E3 returned to service and quarters.
