Thursday, April 10 at approximately 11:58 am:

E3 responded to a medical call for a report of an unresponsive patient possibly not breathing.  BFR personnel arrived on scene to find one patient lying on the ground next to a vehicle.  E3 crew members determined the patient was unconscious and unresponsive with inadequate respirations.  The patient’s airway was quickly controlled and the patient was moved away from the vehicle for better accessibility.  As crew members began obtaining vital signs and checking for injuries the patient regained consciousness.  Spinal immobilization was initialized as EMS arrived on the scene.  Patient care was transferred to EMS and BFR personnel assisted with moving the patient to the ambulance.  Once further on scene care was completed, EMS transported the patient to a local hospital and E3 returned to service.

Thursday, April 10 at approximately 8:22 pm:

E3, E2 and C3 were dispatched on an inside investigation of a residential structure.  E2 arrived on scene to find a single story residential structure with no smoke or fire visible.  Command was established and crew members made contact with the homeowner who indicated that there had been a grease fire on the stove that extended to some cabinets.  One occupant had suffered minor burns from the fire.  A member of E2’s crew initiated patient care while remaining members checked the kitchen for any possible fire extension.  The home was ventilated while power to the stove was turned off.  EMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred.  Once all hazards had been addressed and the patient was transported to a local hospital, command was terminated and E2 returned to service.

Friday, April 11 at approximately 11:15 am:

E2 was dispatched to a medical call for a report of a patient who had fallen 3 stories while working on scaffolding.  Personnel arrived on scene to find a patient awake and alert sitting on the ground.  Crew members quickly immobilized the patient’s spine and began assessing the patient for serious injuries.  IV access was established and visible wounds were dressed.  EMS arrived on scene and the patient was moved to the ambulance for further care.  EMS transported the patient to a local hospital and E2 returned to service and quarters.
