Fire Chief's Briefing for February 24 through March 1, 2014



Here is a summary of Brentwood Fire and Rescue’s emergency responses for the period of February 24 through March 1, 2014.


We responded to 37 emergency calls for service.


These calls can be broken down into the following categories:

Fire: 1

EMS/Rescue: 25

Hazardous Condition: 1

Service Call: 1

Good Intent: 4

False Call: 5


Monday, February 24 at approximately 6:35 pm:

E2 was dispatched on a medical call for a report of a patient possibly having a seizure.  Crew members arrived on scene and made contact with the patient who was being tended to by bystanders.  BFR personnel ensured the patient’s airway and breathing were clear and began obtaining vital signs.  EMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred.  Crew members assisted with moving the patient to the ambulance.  Once in the ambulance, E2’s paramedic established IV access and administered medication for the patient’s condition.  EMS transported the patient to a local hospital and E2 returned to service. 


Friday, February 28 at approximately 9:09 am:

E2 was dispatched on a medical call for a report of a patient having difficulty breathing.  Upon arriving on scene crew members began obtaining baseline vital signs and evaluating the patient’s condition.  The patient was placed on oxygen via non rebreather while E2’s paramedic obtained an EKG.  EMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred.  The patient was moved to the ambulance and E2 personnel assisted EMS with establishing IV access and obtaining a 12 lead EKG.  EMS transported the patient to a local hospital and E2 returned to service.
