Service Call: 2

Good Intent: 2

False Call: 5

Saturday, February 8 at approximately 8:38 pm:

E2 was dispatched on a medical call for a report of a patient with an altered mental status.  E2 arrived on scene and made contact with the patient.  After a brief assessment it was determined that the patient’s altered mental status was due to a low blood sugar.  BFR personnel obtained IV access and EMS gave medication to return the patient’s blood sugar to a normal level.  Within minutes the patient’s mental status improved and the patient became more oriented.  EMS remained on scene with the patient and E2 cleared the scene.

Monday, February 10 at approximately 4:23 pm:

E2 was dispatched on a report of a fire along the side of I-65.  E2 arrived on the scene to find 1/8th of an acre of grass on fire.  BFR personnel deployed the pre-connected hand line from the front bumper of E2 to extinguish the fire.  BPD provided traffic control so crew members could work safely.  Once the fire was extinguished, the area was wetted down to prevent the possibility of further extension.  Once all hazards had been addressed E2 cleared the scene and returned to quarters.
